IBM is a company without a conscience when it comes to the race towards the bottom line.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I don&amp;#39;t really know how to address the problem of what Hitler ruthlessly termed &amp;quot;useless eaters.&amp;quot;  More and more people will be made obsolescent by technology.  We can only hope to find other avenues for their industry, so they don&amp;#39;t develop into a permanent and restive welfare class.  In India, they applied massive numbers of people to infrastructure tasks like building roads.  They could have just used a bulldozer and a steamroller and other heavy machinery, but they opted not to.  At least this way, they could employ people for pennies a day.
